PAGIR

People's Action Group for Inclusion and Rights (PAGIR), located in the Leh high in the Himalayas, is a people's movement dedicated to inclusion advocacy and livelihood generation for people with disabilities. This they do combined with environmental manaement of the delicate eco systems of the mountain region.
The team
PAGIR now has it's own fully accessible buildings just on the edge of Leh where people with disabilities come together to work at sewing products from waste cloth, making handmade paper and paper bricks and newspaper bags also using waste generated in the region. Sport is encouraged and the strengths of each individual are identified to allow them to develop to their fullest..

PAGIR is monitored under MESH's Fair Trade Internal Monitoring System and the members have been learning about fair trade now for a number of years.
